International seminar on Vachana literature in in Dharwad today

A one-day International Seminar on “Relevance of Socio Political Perspectives of Vachana Literature” will be organised at the Shri Mrityunjaya College of Arts and Commerce in Dharwad on Saturday.

According to a press release from the college, the seminar is being held in association with Basava Samiti Bengaluru; Basava Kendra Dharwad; Basava Tiluvalike Mattu Sanshodhana Kendra Pune and Satara Itihas Sanshodhana Mandal Satara.

The seminar will be inaugurated by president of Basava Samiti Bengaluru Arvind Jatti. A plenary speech will be given by president of Basava Tiluvalike Mattu Sanshodhana Kendra Shashikant Pattan.

President of Dr. M.M. Kalburgi Pratisthana Veeranna Rajur will release a book, “Nela Mareya Nidhana”.

Chairman of Basava Kendra North America Steave Roach and its president Shrishail Hadimani will join the seminar through virtual mode.

Subhashchandra Natikar and S.S. Patagundi and other scholars will deliver talks and presenting papers, principal of the college N.C. Patil has said in the release.
