A total of ₹202.65 crore was disbursed to 2,634 loan account holders in the Indian Overseas Bank branches in five regions at a function in Thanjavur on August 2.
According to a release, the mega outreach programme for self-help groups (SHG), financial inclusion and agriculture credit saw good participation from Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Nagapattinam, Dindigul, and Madurai regions. More than 1,000 SHG members, farmers, FPO office-bearers, NGOs, and officials from Mahalir Thittam Project participated in the programme and availed themselves of loans.
The event provided a platform for beneficiaries to interact with bank officials and explore opportunities for growth. It showcased the bank’s efforts to empower rural communities and promote agricultural development, the release added.
