IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap Update: Royal Challengers Bengaluru got the better of Lucknow Super Giants, winning the match by 6 wickets which helped them finish in the top 2 and they’ll now have to take on Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. Virat Kohli scored a fifty while captain Jitesh Sharma also brought up his first IPL half century and along with Mayank Agarwal dragged RCB over the line.
Asked to bat first, LSG were well served by Rishabh Pant’s 61-ball unbeaten knock and Mitchell Marsh’s 37-ball 67. The LSG captain reached his century in just 54 balls. Pant had scored his first IPL ton against Sunrisers Hyderabad while he was with Delhi Capitals in the 2018 season.
On Monday, Punjab Kings confirmed a spot for themselves in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 1 with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Opener Priyansh Arya was among standout performers with the bat once again for PBKS, smashing 62 runs in 35 balls in their chase of 185. However, Josh Inglis was the one who arguably ended all chances of MI snatching a win by smacking 73 runs in just 42 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer, who demoted himself to No.4, finished the chase off emphatically, smashing a six off over long on off Trent Boult in the 19th over and finishing unbeaten on 26 in 16 balls.
