It is impossible to adulterate Aavin milk: Minister

ERODE: Tamil Nadu's milk and dairy development minister Mano Thangaraj on Saturday refuted allegations about adulteration of Aavin milk. "Aavin milk is free from adulteration.

It is impossible to adulterate it," he said. “A vigilance team is in place to prevent adulteration, and they are closely monitoring the situation with farmers,” he said.

He asserted that an audio being circulated regarding adulteration was untrue. The minister was speaking to reporters after an Aavin-related review meeting at the Erode district collectorate. Collector S Kandasamy and housing board minister S Muthusamy and others were present at the meeting.Thangaraj said the department was reviewing a proposed a hike in the milk procurement price. “The proposed price increase is under review, and measures are being taken to bring it to the chief minister's attention," he said.Thangaraj said during the DMK rule, the milk procurement price has been raised by Rs 7, which included Rs 3 for procurement, Rs 3 as an incentive, and Re 1 for milk quality. He mentioned that his department was working to raise the milk procurement volume from 36 lakh litres to 45 lakh litres daily. "The Aavin management is enhancing its milk handling capacity," he added.He said efforts were under way to boost the sales of Aavin products.
