K-pop idol Jackson Wang, who recently collaborated with desi powerhouse Diljit Dosanjh, recently faced a harrowing situation where he came face to face with an alleged ‘saesang’ (stalker fan) on live television during an interview. The slip went viral online, and netizens have been sharing strong reactions against the show for letting this happen.
Jackson Wang comes face-to-face with the stalker, visibly uncomfortable
A clip of the ‘Pretty Please’ singer has recently gone viral and has been making the rounds online. In the clip from one of Jackson’s recent interviews, the idol can be seen visibly in discomfort after a guest enters the podium where he and the interviewer were sitting. The interview was done by a popular video streaming service.
The ‘fan’ who was invited on the show alongside Jackson openly admitted to following the artist from one country to another, causing a lot of speculation amongst the fan base. In the video, Jackson Wang, who is known for his open and sweet demeanour with fans, was seen getting up from his chair and standing behind it while the interviewer talked to the alleged saesang.
Fans criticise the show and the stalker for doing this
As soon as the slip went viral, Wang’s fans took to online social media platforms to criticise the platform for letting an alleged saesang near him in such a setting. Many also called out the stalker for being on the show as a guest as well. One fan commented that “I don't like how the host acted and kept pushing questions on the fan when Jackson was uncomfortable. Old me would brush it off as him being oblivious, but now that I am better at recognising people's intentions. Dumb was giving secret hater energy.”
Another fan shared that “He didn't even offer a seat to her, didn't even hug her back, and we're talking about JACKSON WANG here, who always treats his fans like close friends. He got uncomfortable and couldn't even hide it. Hope they'll do something about that creature.”
This is not ok - Jackson is usually such a loveable hugger with fans and yet the show gave a platform for what looks like a saesaeng who admitted to following him from country to country - idols need better vetting and protection from stalker fans! pic.twitter.com/a9Wku8Vu8T
