Becoming an actress feels like a miracle, it just happened smoothly without any struggles

Kannada television actress Manasvi, currently winning hearts with her performance in the serial Jai Lalitha, says her entry into the entertainment industry was never something she had planned or even imagined.

In a candid interaction with ETimes, the young actress reflects on her unexpected journey, early beginnings, family support, and how she is gradually growing into a recognisable face on television. Manasvi reveals that she began acting while she was still studying in 10th standard, but even then, acting was not a career goal. “I never knew I would become an actress. It was completely out of my thoughts,” she says. “In fact, I wanted to become a chartered accountant.

That was the career I had in mind.”

Her connection to the industry came through her brother, who had briefly worked in the field.

“My brother was in the industry for a while, but unfortunately things didn’t work out for him,” she shares. “When he used to post my pictures on his WhatsApp status, a few directors contacted him and asked if I was interested in acting. They motivated me and encouraged me to give auditions.” That encouragement became a turning point. Manasvi began auditioning and soon landed a role in the film Vidhyati Vidhyarthiniyare.

“I started giving auditions seriously, and then things slowly started falling into place,” she says. “I did a movie, then I bagged Nati Charami, and now Jai Lalitha. Looking back, everything happened very smoothly.”

Unlike many who struggle for years to get a break, Manasvi acknowledges her fortune with gratitude.

“I honestly didn’t face struggles like many others do,” she admits. “I got selected, and opportunities kept coming my way. I feel extremely fortunate when I compare my journey with people who have been trying for years to enter the industry.

Maybe this is what I was destined for. I can even call it a miracle.”

Talking about her character Lalitha, Manasvi says the role is completely opposite to her real-life personality.

“In real life, I am an extrovert,” she explains. “But Lalitha is very different. She’s like a rowdy baby—talks too much, very chirpy, and dramatic. Playing her is challenging because I have to step out of my comfort zone every single day.” She adds with a laugh, “The irony is that the team is actually helping me become more of an introvert in real life. I am learning so much through this character.”

Manasvi also credits her parents for being her strongest support system.

“I never had an idea of how the entertainment industry works,” she says. “My parents have been my biggest strength. Either my mom or dad always accompanies me to shoots, mostly my dad. They want to see me grow as an actress and win awards on prestigious stages. That belief keeps me grounded.”

As a new-age actress, Manasvi understands the importance of social media visibility.

“Today, being present on social media is very important,” she notes. “It helps actors connect directly with audiences and stay relevant.

But I believe content and performance should always come first.”

The recognition she is receiving now feels surreal.

“I am truly loving and living my reel character,” she says. “When people recognise me on the street and call me Lalitha, it feels very special. That’s when I realise that my work is reaching people.” With talent, humility, and gratitude guiding her journey, Manasvi’s rise in Kannada television appears to be just the beginning.
