‘Jailer 2’: Vijay Sethupathi confirms cameo in the Rajinikanth-Nelson Dilipkumar film; makes special exception for the Tamil superstar

Superstar Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar’s much-awaited sequel, ‘Jailer 2,’ is in the works. Fans are already waiting with high anticipation for the action thriller, and in addition to their joy, actor Vijay Sethupathi has confirmed that he will be making a cameo role in the film.

Vijay Sethupathi does a cameo role

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vijay Sethupathi has confirmed that he is part of ‘Jailer 2.’ He shared that he has done a cameo in the film. He also shared the reason behind this decision. The ‘Farzi’ actor said, “I have done a cameo in Jailer 2 because I love Rajinikanth, sir. To be with him, I get to learn a lot. The superstars survived in this industry for so many decades. There is so much to learn.

”Vijay also mentioned that he had earlier decided not to do cameos or villain roles. But for Rajinikanth, he made an exception.

Why does Vijay Sethupathi avoid villain roles now?

In the same interview, Vijay Sethupathi discussed why he is cautious about choosing villain roles. He explained that many filmmakers emotionally compel him to take on such roles. This affects the movies where he plays the hero. He said, “Now I'm doing the villain for the script only, which excites me.”

Vijay also shared that most villain roles are written routinely. According to him, they are made only to lift the hero.

Since these roles are not special, he has rejected many offers.
