Pittsburgh Steelers legend James Harrison has sparked debate among NFL fans by suggesting that veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers may not be the player he once was. On the latest episode of the "Deebo & Joe" podcast, Harrison highlighted concerns over Rodgers’ arm strength and accuracy, noting how small differences in throw placement can turn completions into turnovers.

At 41, Rodgers faces the inevitable scrutiny that comes with age, making Harrison’s comments all the more attention-grabbing.

James Harrison questions Aaron Rodgers’ strength and accuracy ahead of Steelers' season

James Harrison didn’t hold back when assessing Aaron Rodgers’ current form. “To be honest with you, I don’t think he’s the player that he used to be,” Harrison said. “I think now it’s to the point where those balls that he would zip out there, and it’s just the fingertip away, and you couldn’t get to it.”

The Steelers legend pointed out that throws that once sailed past defenders now appear more reachable, raising questions about Rodgers’ precision.

“Three inches off, it’s the difference between somebody touching the ball, picking the ball, and the ball getting into the receiver’s hands,” he added. While Harrison’s concerns are understandable, Rodgers’ offseason reports indicate the veteran remains capable.

Analysts note that his struggles in 2024 were largely due to recovering from a torn Achilles rather than an age-related decline. By the end of last season, Rodgers had regained much of his timing and accuracy, showing he can still perform at a high level despite the natural wear and tear of an NFL career.

Additionally, Rodgers did not participate in preseason snaps, which could affect timing and chemistry early in the season.
