French player Terence Atmane amazed the world at the Cincinnati Open in Ohio on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Number one Jannik Sinner. He gave Sinner a Pokémon card for his twenty-fourth birthday.

Sinner smiled at the present. Before their Centre Court semi-final game, it was a brief, humorous event. Cheers and birthday greetings met the Italian star from her admirers.

Before the semi-final, Terence Atmane walked up to Jannik Sinner in the tunnel. He handed him a Pokémon card as a birthday present. Sinner was happy and surprised. The card had Pikachu, showing Atmane’s love for Pokémon. Sinner said, “It was just a nice moment before a match. We didn’t know each other at all. So, it was a nice moment.”

Both players smiled and shared a hug. Then they walked to Centre Court for their first match against each other. Fans had already sung “Happy Birthday” to Sinner, adding to the fun atmosphere.

Later, Jannik Sinner beat Terence Atmane 7-6(4), 6-2. The match lasted 86 minutes. Sinner played strong and stayed calm. He won 91% of his first-serve points and made two of five break chances.
