Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha's mythological thriller 'Jatadhara' is struggling at the box office, earning an estimated Rs 5.14 crore in its first week. Facing competition from 'The Girlfriend', the film saw a moderate opening but collections dropped significantly. Theatre occupancy remained low, hovering around 11.84% on Wednesday.
Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha's mythological thriller 'Jatadhara' has been facing a tough run at the box office. Upon its release alongside Rashmika Mandanna starrer 'The Girlfriend', the film had a moderate opening.
However, its collection dropped quickly within days of it hitting the big screens.Early estimates suggest that on day 6, the movie collected Rs 60 lakh according to trade analyst Sacnilk. The movie began its box office run with Rs 1.07 crore and another Rs 1.07 crore to the tally on the second day. Later, it saw a short rise, minting Rs 1.25 crore on Sunday. The film later saw a decline to Rs 55 lakh on Monday, Rs 60 lakh on Tuesday and another Rs 60 lakh to the total which comes to Rs 5.14 crore.The film saw a box office clash with Rashmika Mandanna's 'The Girlfriend', which has been receiving raving reviews since its release. The movie is having a steady run, making Rs 8.85 crore in its first five days.
Theatre occupancy
Speaking of the 'Jatadhara' theatre occupancy on Wednesday, the film had an overall 11.84% Telugu occupancy. It recorded its lowest during the morning shows at 11.16%. Later, it increased by a short margin to 13.09% in the afternoon and back to 11.17% in the evening.
Lastly, the film wrapped up its day at 11.95% at night.
About 'Jatadhara'
Directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and Venkat Kalyan, the film stars Sudheer Babu as Shiva, a ghost hunter who relies on reason and evidence, and Sonakshi Sinha in her Telugu debut playing a pivotal antagonist, Dhanapisachini.
