Veteran actors Jayaram and Urvashi are reuniting for a comedy film by director Pandiraj after a two-decade hiatus. Jayaram on reuniting with Urvashi after 20 years
Speaking in an interview with Gopinath, Jayaram expressed how happy he is to work with Urvashi again after so many years "We are acting together after 20 years.
Shooting is on, but the title is not announced yet," he said, adding that the film is full of lot of fun and comedy. "A lot of the time we are doing retakes as both of us end up laughing and he needs to wait for us to compose," revealed Jayaram, about the long hours taken to complete a shot.
"Each take requires 10-15 retakes. We laugh in between shots and Pandiraj sir waits for us both to settle down before he says take 1," he explained.
A proven pair with timeless comic chemistry
Jayaram and Urvashi's legendary pair remains evergreen. With films like 'Chakkikotha Chankaran', 'Kadinjool Kalyanam’ and even the Tamil blockbuster ‘Panchatanthiram’, they have maintained their status as a pair that brims with charm and of course, an undeniable chemistry. Over the years, even their more recent pairings have met with acclaim, the 2020 anthology film ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ being one such film where they portray a couple going through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Jayaram praises Urvashi’s skills
Jayaram also took the opportunity to heap praise on Urvashi’s versatility as a performer. Recounting a particular sequence from the film he is currently working on, he said, “She intentionally repeated a line that I had told her not to, and then she gave me a look that asked, ‘What I said was right?’ No one else could give that look.” Complimenting her spontaneity, Jayaram’s remark reflects the beautiful bond shared between the two as co-actors and friends.
While audiences await the official title and details, both actors remain highly active; Jayaram is busy with a packed lineup of films, while Urvashi continues to earn acclaim for her recent performances.
