Jayaram and Urvashi to reunite for Pandiraj’s comedy after 20 years: 'Each take requires 15 retakes'

Actors Jayaram and Urvashi, who have been in the business for years, will be making a comeback to films after a long gap of nearly 20 years, sharing screen space as the legendary laughter pair of South India.

They will be seen in a comedy film soon to be directed by Pandiraj. Jayaram on reuniting with Urvashi after 20 years

Speaking in an interview with Gopinath, Jayaram expressed how happy he is to work with Urvashi again after so many years "We are acting together after 20 years.

Shooting is on, but the title is not announced yet," he said, adding that the film is full of lot of fun and comedy. "A lot of the time we are doing retakes as both of us end up laughing and he needs to wait for us to compose," revealed Jayaram, about the long hours taken to complete a shot.

"Each take requires 10-15 retakes. We laugh in between shots and Pandiraj sir waits for us both to settle down before he says take 1," he explained.

A proven pair with timeless comic chemistry

Jayaram and Urvashi's legendary pair remains evergreen. With films like 'Chakkikotha Chankaran', 'Kadinjool Kalyanam’ and even the Tamil blockbuster ‘Panchatanthiram’, they have maintained their status as a pair that brims with charm and of course, an undeniable chemistry. Recounting a particular sequence from the film he is currently working on, he said, “She intentionally repeated a line that I had told her not to, and then she gave me a look that asked, ‘What I said was right?’ No one else could give that look.” Complimenting her spontaneity, Jayaram’s remark reflects the beautiful bond shared between the two as co-actors and friends.
