Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi has lambasted the Congress-led government in the State for prioritizing internal conflicts over the development of the State.
Mr. Joshi pointed out that internal differences among Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other Cabinet Ministers have brought development of the State to a grinding halt.
Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Joshi said that though the Siddaramaiah-led government has completed two years in power, most of the welfare schemes never took off yet due to infighting within the State leadership.
The welfare schemes have failed to reach the intended beneficiaries, development works have been moving at a very slow pace and deteriorating law and order situation in the State has become a matter of concern, he added.
‘Siddaramaiah shifting blame’
Holding the Siddaramaiah-led government morally responsible for the stampede during RCB’s victory celebrations, Mr. Joshi slammed Mr. Siddaramaiah and his Cabinet colleagues over their “disgraceful and desperate” attempt to shift blame for the stampede that claimed 11 lives.
Replying to a query, Mr Joshi clarified that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) sanctioned for the Kalyana Karnataka region will not be shifted to any other region. A special committee has been set up to decide on the proposed AIIMS establishment, he added.
