The State committee meeting of the Janadhipathya Samrakshana Samithi (JSS) held here on Saturday expelled A. V. Thamarakshan, its president for anti-party activities.

The meeting also expelled party centre members including Vinod Wayanad, K.P. Surendran Kuttanad, State secretaries Balaramapuram Surendran, Malayankeezhu Nandakumar along with Mr. Thamarakshan.

A.N. Rajan Babu, State general secretary, said in a communication that the district committees in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad have been dissolved. The charge has been given to ad-hoc committees formed in these districts, he said.

The release said that Mr. Thamarakshan had issued a press note the other day stating that Mr. Babu has been expelled from the post of State general secretary. Following the development, the State committee took a unanimous decision to expel him and the four others from the primary membership of the party. He issued the note after supporting the show cause notice issued by the State general secretary against the four office-bearers for anti-party activities, it said.
