Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao said the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection would serve as a people’s verdict on the Congress government’s performance. Urging the party cadre to ensure the victory of BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha, he said that a defeat for Congress in this election would force the ruling party to fulfill its promises to the people of Telangana.

Addressing a gathering at Telangana Bhavan before BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath filed her nomination papers on Wednesday, Mr. Rama Rao said, “This bypoll is not just a contest between two individuals, but a battle between a decade of progress under BRS and two years of chaos under the Congress government.”

He alleged that the Congress regime had failed Hyderabad’s growth due to flawed policies and initiatives and neglecting the welfare of poor families, farmers and unemployed youth.

The BRS leader asserted that the Jubilee Hills byelection would serve as the foundation for the BRS’s resurgence under K. Chandrashekar Rao’s leadership. “The Pink Wave that transformed Telangana will begin again from Jubilee Hills,” he said, appealing to voters to support Ms. Sunitha and prompt the Revanth Reddy government to keep its promises.
