'Kalamkaval': Mammootty's film to be released on THIS date

Malayalam superstar Mammootty's much-awaited film 'Kalamkaval', directed by Jithin K Jose, is all set to hit theatres worldwide during the winter. The makers officially announced on Thursday.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Mammootty shared the release update with fans, writing, "#Kalamkaval Releasing Worldwide On November 27, 2025." The film has already been cleared by the Censor Board with a U/A 16+ certificate. A day before announcing the release date, the veteran actor had revealed the film's censor status on his social media handle.

Teaser of 'Kalamkaval'

The teaser of 'Kalamkaval', released earlier, offered audiences a glimpse into its intense and intriguing world.

It opens with a mysterious knock on a door, followed by an exchange that sets up the tension. A Tamilian man opens the door and asks, "Who are you?", leading to a series of shots featuring Vinayakan and Mammootty in different moods.Vinayakan appears as a strict and intense police officer, while Mammootty is seen as a calm and controlled person in a role shrouded in mystery.

First look of the film

The production house shared the first look earlier this year, revealing the film's tagline, "The venom beneath".

This tagline has Mammootty's intense look in the posters, which has led fans to speculate that the actor may be portraying a character with shades of grey.'Kalamkaval' has been written by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. The film's cinematography is handled by Faisal Ali, editing by Praveen Prabhakar, and music by Mujeeb Majeed. Action choreography is by Action Santhosh.The film is set for a November 27, 2025 release.
