The Grand Alliance leaders
Patna: Moments after being declared the Opposition’s chief ministerial face, RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday promised to transform the face of Bihar if the Grand Alliance (GA) wins the assembly elections, making a fervent appeal to people to give him just one chance.“Ek baar Tejashwi ko mauka dekar to dekho. Bihar ke logon ko bahar jane ki jarurat nahin hogi (Just give Tejashwi a chance. The people of Bihar will not need to migrate outside the state),” the RJD leader, flanked by top GA leaders, appealed to the people on Thursday. He said if the alliance comes to power, his govt would need “only 20 months to carry out the works that have not been undertaken in 20 years”. “The state would witness scores of development. Factories; industries, including agro-based; SEZ; IT park; and food processing units among other things will come up, while closed sugar and jute mills will be reopened.
We will also set up an educational city on 2,000 acres,” Yadav promised, claiming he had "vision and undying passion" for state's development.Stating the NDA had not revealed any plan for the state's growth, he said the opposition leaders would sit together and unveil Bihar’s roadmap for development. Promising to give a job to every household and regularise the contractual workers, he said the state would attain new heights of development if given the chance.
“If Tejashwi becomes the CM, the people of the state also will become the CMs (change-makers),” he said. On Wednesday as well, he had talked about "CMs" among the Jivika Didis, which he later explained as “community mobilisers”.At the same time, he promised not to make any compromise on the issue of "corruption" and "spare nobody accused of a crime, be it his own shadow”. “Won’t tolerate anyone when it comes to maintaining law and order," he said, also promising to take all castes and classes together.Yadav added the opposition leaders have come together to build a new Bihar after dethroning the 20-year-old “rickety govt”. “We do not just want to form the govt or become the CM, but we want to make a new Bihar, which is why we are together ... I want to assure all of them that I will do everything possible to meet your expectations,” he said. All top INDIA bloc leaders, such as former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot; in charge of Congress in Bihar, Krishna Allavaru; state Congress President Rajesh Kumar; CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya; VIP chief Mukesh Sahani; and other Left leaders were present with Yadav.
