Kalkaji Triple Suicide: Police Arrive For Eviction, Find Mother, Two Sons Hanging

In a tragic incident, a woman, and her two sons were found dead in their flat in an apparent triple suicide in southeast Delhi on Friday.

According to the police, the woman has been identified as Anuradha Kapoor and her two sons as Ashish Kapoor (32) and Chaitanya Kapoor (27).

The case came to light when a bailiff, accompanied by local police personnel, arrived at the residence in Kalkaji to execute a court order for possession. The family living in the house had not allegedly paid the rent for nearly two years.

Upon entering, the three were discovered hanging from a ceiling fan.

“The handwritten note indicates emotional distress faced by the family due to which they might have taken the extreme step," DCP (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari said.

The police said that Anuradha’s husband had died last year, and her sons were unemployed, Indian Express reported.

“Her husband was a builder who was deep in debt. In December 2023, he had rented this house, located on the third floor of the residential building, but the family never paid the rent," the officer added.

The bodies were shifted to the AIIMS mortuary for post-mortem and other legal formalities, police said.

Police are probing the circumstances leading to the incident, including the family’s financial and social background, the officer said.

Investigations are underway.
