‘Kalppakam 2025’, a campaign by the National Service Scheme (NSS) to mark World Environment Day, was launched in Kozhikode district on Thursday (June 5).
According to a press release, the campaign aims to promote environmental conservation, combat substance abuse, and eliminate plastic pollution. As part of the initiative, around 8,000 volunteers from approximately 160 NSS units in the district planted coconut tree saplings in schools, homes, and public spaces. The volunteers will also take responsibility for maintaining the saplings.
