With tourist footfall steadily rising, the State government has launched a comprehensive infrastructure and sustainability initiative at Kappad Blue Flag Beach, one of Malabar’s premier coastal landmarks.
Managed by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), the project will be implemented in two phases with a total investment of ₹5 crore. K.K. Aswin, destination manager at the DTPC, said that government approval for the renovation and beautification of the beach had been issued in November last year.
“The initiative prioritises the reinforcement of core infrastructure while embedding sustainable tourism practices,” Mr. Aswin told The Hindu.
