Karnataka CET results out, students from CBSE schools dominate ranks

The results of the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2025 were announced here on Saturday with students from CBSE dominating the ranks in the engineering stream.

Of the top ten ranks, seven were from CBSE schools. Bhavesh Jayanthi from Bengaluru emerged as top ranker in engineering stream. He also emerged as second topper in Pharma-D.

Satwik B Biradar is the second engineering rank holder followed by, Dhinesh Gowthami Shankar Arunachalam. All the three top rank holders were from Bengaluru schools.

In B.V.Sc, Harishraj.D.V. has emerged as a topper with 94.44%, in B.sc agriculture Akshay.M.Hegde is topper with 95.56%, Aathreya Venkatachalam is topper in B-Pharma with 91.11% as well as Pharma-D with 91.11%, Harishraj.D.V is topper Nursing and BNYS with 94.44%.

This year, the number of students who got eligibility for admission to engineering courses has decreased compared to last year.

This year a total of 2,62,195 students are eligible for engineering courses as against the 2.75 lakh students who were eligible last year.

Not just engineering, the eligiblity for all the courses has been dipped this year.

As against the 2.19 lakh students eligible for BNYS course this year 1,98,679 are eligible.

In B.Sc (Agri) this year a total of 2,14,588 got eligibility as against the 2.15 lakh during 2024.

Releasing the results, Higher Education Minister M.C.Sudhakar revealed that grace marks have been awarded only for Physics subject. “One grace mark has been awarded in physics subject and in biology, for one question two answers were considered and in Chemistry, two answers were considered for two questions,” said the minister.

However, the minister attributed the reduction in eligibility to the reduced pass percentage among II PUC science students.
