Karnataka High Court directed the Advocate General to get instructions from the State Government on the deaths on June 4 due to a stampede outside Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru during the victory celebrations of RCB.
On June 5, a division bench comprising acting Chief Justice V. Kameswar Rao and Justice C. M. Joshi told A-G Shashikiran Shetty that the bench would hear the matter at 2.30 p.m. as A-G said that he would give a brief report by then on what measures the State Government had taken.
Advocate G. R. Mohan mentioned before the court that he had sent an email to the court’s registry about the breach of security in the high court building during the victory celebrations in front of Vidhana Soudha.
Many people were allowed on the terrace of the high court building to watch felicitation of RCB players on the stairs of Vidhana Soudha, Mr. Mohan said and pointed out the that there was an order to ensure property security in the high court building, but this order was breached.
The bench asked him to come at 2.30 p.m.
