Karnataka Social and Educational Survey: Mandya tops State by covering 98.03% of its population

By already covering 98.03% of its population, Mandya tops Karnataka in the ongoing Social and Educational Survey, said Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Mr. Kumar said that so far, the exercise has covered 18,29,582 people out of the projected population of 18,66,350 in Mandya. During the exercise, which began on September 22, a total of 5.10 lakh families in the district had been surveyed, the statement said.

The survey is part of a comprehensive data collection exercise on the social, educational, and economic conditions of all communities and castes across Karnataka in a State-wide exercise.

“It is a matter of great pride that Mandya has secured the first position in the State for the successful completion of this large-scale survey,” Mr. Kumar said in the statement, while acknowledging the efforts of the large number of individuals who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the exercise.

“The active participation and involvement of officers from various departments at both district and taluk levels, as well as the entire teaching community played a crucial role in the successful completion of the survey,” the statement said.

Mr. Kumar also sought to acknowledge the positive response and cooperation of the people of Mandya to ensure the successful collection of data as part of the survey.

Apart from the enumerators, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation employees, gram panchayat staff members, and anganwadi workers who helped in identifying the families, Mr. Kumar also thanked the tahsildars, executive officers, block-education officers, municipal commissioners, and child-development project officers.
