HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy alleged that the candidate for the Vice-President’s post from the INDI Alliance had polled only 300 votes as against 315 claimed by Congress’s senior leader Jairam Ramesh.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said the Congress MPs met Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Nitin Gadkari and also Lok Sabha Speaker only to inform them that they had voted for the NDA candidate. It was done ‘as part of the teacher-disciple understanding between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy, who was with the Telugu Desam Party till 2016’, the BRS leader said.
Mr. Kaushik Reddy further claimed that three Congress MPs from the State had told him the same. While AICC leader Rahul Gandhi was speaking about ‘vote chori’ day-in and day-out, Mr. Revanth Reddy had resorted to the same in Telangana and deceived a son of the soil of Telangana — the INDI Alliance candidate for the Vice-President’s post, he alleged.
Stating that selling had become a practice with the Congress leaders of Telangana starting with the Chief Minister, Mr. Kaushik Reddy said while those at the highest level had sold Group-I posts, the gunman (PSO) of the Congress MLA from Miryalaguda had sold one lorry-load of urea in the black market.
Mr. Rahul Gandhi was terming agencies such as ED and CBI as the pocket burrows of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Mr. Revanth Reddy had handed over the probe into Kaleshwaram project to CBI, without even keeping most of his Cabinet colleagues in the loop, as the Chief Minister was just doing just what Prime Minister Narendra Modi was telling him to do and creating doubts in the minds of an average Congress activist whether he (Revanth Reddy) was the Congress Chief Minister or BJP’s.
