As part of the Vision 2031 initiative, Keltron aims to achieve a turnover target of ₹2,000 crore, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve has said.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Electronic Integration Bay of Keltron Krasny Defence Systems Private Limited (KKDS) at Keltron, Aroor, on Saturday, Mr. Rajeeve said Keltron’s contributions to the defence sector were unparalleled. Keltron is currently working in collaboration with companies in Vietnam, he said.
Mr. Rajeeve said the government’s goal was to transform every household into an enterprise hub. Under this initiative, 50% of each home’s space can be licensed for entrepreneurial use and vacant houses can be fully converted into business units, he said.
The Minister said that Vision 2031 also aims to create small-scale employment opportunities, such as electronic assembly work for educated homemakers by providing them with the necessary training. “Keltron can play a key role in this initiative. The government is also working to create employment opportunities within Kerala for around 40,000 highly qualified professionals returning from abroad. These skilled individuals can be effectively employed in universities and higher education institutions,” Mr. Rajeeve said.
He said that approval had already been granted for 10 campus industrial parks across the State, which would further strengthen the knowledge economy.
The Minister described KKDS as a new milestone in the defence sector, aimed at leveraging Keltron’s advanced technological expertise for the production of underwater defence electronic systems.
