Ken Karunaas expresses 'heartfelt thanks' to Thalapathy Vijay fans for ‘overwhelming support’ for first look of ‘Youth’

Actor Ken Karunaas, who is debuting as a filmmaker has announced 'Youth' as the title name and piqued the interest of his audience with the reveal. The announcement was made on the day of Pongal 2026 festivities along with a first look poster and a potential release timeline.

The title is inspired from Vijay’s blockbuster motion picture of the same name from 2002, which was helmed by Vincent Selva. The title has received tremendous support from Vijay's ardent fanbase. This support left Ken feeling grateful in a heartfelt social media post.

Ken Karunaas shares emotional connection with the title

Earlier, while announcing the title, Ken Karunaas wrote about the emotional connection with 'Youth'. He said, ‘Having grown up wetting my pants seeing @actorvijay sir on the screen, to embark on my film journey with a title as classic and timeless as “YOUTH” is nothing less than surreal and beautiful for me.’

He also mentioned that it is a “humble tribute” to the legacy of the title. This candid confession has further intensified the anticipation for the film owing to this sincerity and respect that reflected in the post.Touted as a feel-good school movie, 'Youth' features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anishma Anil Kumar, Devadarshini, Meenakshi Dinesh, and Priyanshi Yadav among others. The film is in post-production and will be out in February 2026. The technical team of the film includes GV Prakash as music director, Viki as cinematographer, Nash as the director, and Ramu Thangaraj as the editor.
