The Kalpathy wing of the Kerala Brahmana Sabha (KBS) gave away educational scholarships at a function held here on Sunday. KBS former State president Karimpuzha Raman inaugurated the function in which scholarships under the K.S.V. Subramaniam and P.S. Subbalakshmi endowments were distributed to students from different agraharas in the district. As much as ₹3 lakh was given away to 60 students.

Veteran leader of the KBS P.A. Kashi Viswanathan presided over the function. KBS district secretary R. Venkitachalam, treasurer K.V. Krishnamani, Kalpathy sub unit secretary T. Santhana Gopalakrishnan, treasurer Natarajan, A.G.V. Sarma, New Kalpathy Gramajana Samooham president K.S. Krishna, KBS Kalpathy unit women wing secretary R. Lalita and S. Syamala spoke.
