Both daily electricity consumption and peak demand recorded an all-time high in Kerala on Friday (April 17, 2026), with the oppressive summer heat driving up electricity usage.

The State recorded a daily consumption of 116.11 million units (mu) and peak demand of 6,013 megawatts (MW) on Friday, according to data published by the load dispatch centre under the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).
