Khushbu confirms Sundar C’s surgery; seeks blessings at Tirupati on the director's birthday, shares health update

One of the most commercially successful Tamil directors, Sundar C has made a name for himself by delivering a string of hit films. Recently, he made waves after being initially roped in to direct a Rajinikanth film which was to be produced by Kamal Haasan.

However, just a short while after the film was announced, Sundar C withdrew from the project by saying that he would not be directing the film and that he apologised to the fans for the ‘mess’. Notably, the director went back to his regular production schedule almost immediately after the exit.

Today, (January 21), marking the birthday celebration of director-actor Sundar C, his wife and actress Khushbu Sundar visited the temple at Tirupati Tirumala for a special puja.

While speaking to the media after her darshan at the temple, Khushbu stated, “Sundar C had a minor surgery recently, and he could not attend the temple with us.” She also added, “That is the reason why I went to the temple with my family members to pray for Sundar.

” Khushbu confirmed the news of the minor surgery undergone by Sundar C but did not elaborate on it. She requested the media to give Sundar privacy.

Khushbu seeks blessing at Tirupati

Khushbu opted for the VIP Break Darshan at the Tirumala temple after which prasadam was distributed by the temple.

Vedic scholars also performed yagnas for her after the darshan. Speaking to the assembled media outside the temple, Khushbu emphasized that all her visit to the temple was personal, based on her faith and gratitude particularly on her husband Sundar C’s birthday. Her comments quelled speculative imaginations and hampered-way genuine concerns that all was well and Khushbu had not suffered any anguish distress in her husband’s recuperation and relative health.

Meanwhile, Sundar C has continued to remain actively engaged in his career. He is currently involved with a new film with Vishal in the lead role as well as the project ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ where Nayanthara plays the lead. Celebrating his birthday, his production house released a video wishing him well, dubbing him the ‘King of Entertainment’ and celebrating his three decades of successful commercial films. On the other hand, a crucial announcement regarding the Vishal-Hip Hop Tamizha-Sundar C project is expected later today.
