Kia Syros gets new HTK(EX) variant: Features, price & more

Kia India today announced the launch of the new HTK (EX) variant for the Kia Syros sub-compact SUV. The new addition is positioned to deliver a richer feature set while keeping pricing competitive, expanding the compact SUV’s portfolio to seven variants.

The new HTK (EX) trim is priced at Rs 9.90 lakh for the turbo petrol engine option and Rs 10.64 lakh for the diesel (both prices ex-showroom). Interested buyers can book the Syros in this new trim either online or by visiting their nearest dealership.

The new Syros HTK(EX) variant is based on the HTK(O) trim and gets features such as LED daytime running lights, headlamps, and taillamps, along with 16-inch alloy wheels.

Additional features include an electric sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, four speakers with two tweeters, steering-mounted controls, 4.2-inch MID, electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors, driver seat height adjust, rear AC vents with sun shade curtains for rear doors and a rear parking camera with sensors.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, ESC, hill start assist, VSM, EBD and more.

The sub-compact SUV gets two engine options - a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol which puts out 120hp of power and 172Nm torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. Another engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel with 115hp of power and 250Nm torque. It comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.Design wise, the new Kia Syros features a completely new design and follows Kia’s global design language. It takes design inspiration from the Carnival, EV3 and EV9. The Syros features a boxy and upright design, with vertically stacked LED headlamps positioned at the edges of the bumper. These headlamps house three LED projector units and a unique drop-down LED daytime running light design, similar to what we’ve seen in the new Carnival.

The upper section of the front fascia is sealed and looks almost like an EV. The air intakes are integrated into the blacked-out lower portion, accented by a contrasting silver trim.
