Director Gowtam Tinnanuri is basking in the success of the pan-India action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda, which has opened to strong numbers. The director Gowtam recently interacted with the media and shared about a project that didn't take off with Tollywood superstar Ram Charan.
Script didn't fit
As per a 123Telugu report, the 'Jersey' director revealed that he had once approached Ram Charan with a story idea that was well-received by the actor. "I had narrated a storyline to Ram Charan, and he liked it very much," Gowtam shared. Encouraged by the actor’s interest, he developed the concept into a full script. However, once the screenplay was complete, the director felt it did not align with Charan's larger-than-life image and stardom.
Decision taken with mutual respect"Directing a star like Ram Charan is a one-time opportunity, and I didn't just want to make any random film with him. I told him the same, and we mutually decided to collaborate on the right project," Gowtam added.
About 'Kingdom'
Meanwhile, 'Kingdom' continues its successful theatrical run. According to a Sacnilk report, the movie has grossed over Rs 7 crore on its first Sunday, accumulating a total of Rs 40.50 crore in India.The film, mounted on a grand scale, has been praised for its gripping screenplay, compelling visuals, and Vijay Deverakonda's intense performance. It also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Satyadev, and Venkitesh in key roles.
The action-packed drama includes music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.Meanwhile, 'RRR' star Ram Charan, after 'Game Changer' is gearing up for the release of his upcoming village sports drama film 'Peddi' directed by Buchi Babu Sana of 'Uppena' fame. The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and stars Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma and others in key roles.
