The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced special arrangements to facilitate travel for passengers during the upcoming Onam festival. To meet the festive rush, KSRTC will operate 90 additional buses to Kerala from September 2 to 4, 2025, apart from its regular services.
The extra buses will run from Bengaluru’s Mysuru Road Bus Station and Shanthinagar BMTC Bus Station to major Kerala destinations including Kannur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram. All premium category special buses will depart from Shanthinagar Bus Station, according to KSRTC officials.
In a release KSRTC stated that for the return journey, special services from various parts of Kerala to Bengaluru will be available on September 7. “KSRTC has also opened advance reservations for these services through its counters as well as online at www.ksrtc.karnataka.gov.in
“To encourage group travel, KSRTC is offering a 5% discount on fares when four or more passengers book together on a single ticket. Additionally, passengers booking onward and return tickets simultaneously will receive a 10% concession on the return fare,” the release stated.
Advance booking counters have also been set up across major cities in neighbouring States, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.
“Details regarding departure points, timings, and schedules are available on the KSRTC website and at computerized reservation centers. The corporation has urged passengers to check their tickets for accurate boarding points,” an official added.
