The film 'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate ' is getting a lot of attention right now. People are talking about it, watching it, and sharing their thoughts. The box office response has also been very good.
Many did not expect such a strong run, but the film surprised everyone. At the center of this success is its young director, Ankit Sakhiya. At just 29 years old, he has shown that films do not always need big money to touch people’s hearts.
What Ankit really believes
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ankit shared his clear and simple thoughts about filmmaking. He said, "My thinking is slightly different. I also want to make big films. If a story needs scale, of course money is needed.
But the idea that only money makes a film that’s wrong. People think: “If you have this camera, that equipment, then the film will work. The thought has to be good. The story has to be strong."He explained how people often get stuck on budget numbers. "If a concept needs Rs 200 crore, then maybe we can’t make it. But can we express that idea in ₹10 crore? Or Rs 5 crore? Or Rs 2 crore? That’s the real thinking." For him the heart of the story matters more than how expensive the setup looks.
Making 'Laalo' with pure jugaad
Ankit also spoke about how Laalo was actually made. He said, "When I started this film I needed maybe 15 lights and basic equipment. That’s it. Then I realised even that much wasn’t necessary." He shared a simple but powerful idea. "I could shoot on the street, place my actor on a chair, put that chair in front of a mountain the mountain is going to be there, we don’t need to pay for it, and still tell the story."He was very honest about the process. "I finished this film through pure jugaad.
I’m 29. I put in my own money." Ankit made it clear that there was one thing he never compromised on. "The only thing we didn’t compromise on was the creative truth. The audience should feel what the character is saying, not how big the frame looks."
His reaction to the success
Talking about the film’s success, Ankit told Bollywood Hungama that he never imagined this kind of response. In an interview, he shared, “I didn't think it would have such a big impact.” He said he believed in the film, but the love surprised him. “It was clear that if a good film is made, it will reach people and they will like it."He also added, "If people come to see it, they will like it. But the impact it had on people, I never thought it would be like this." For Ankit, the biggest reward is not numbers or noise, but the way people connect with the story.
