Labour rights yet to be fully realised, says S.K. Kanta

Senior labour leader and former Labour Minister S.K. Kanta said that despite legal safeguards and welfare measures introduced over the years, workers in the country continue to face exploitation and have not received their due dignity and rights.

Addressing a May Day public meeting organised by the New Kalyana Karnataka Construction Workers’ Union at Jagat Circle in Kalaburagi on Friday (May 1), Mr. Kanta said that the struggle for workers’ rights had a long history and that successive governments had enacted laws following sustained movements.
