Ferrari star driver Lewis Hamilton gave a scathing review of his showing at the Hungarian Grand Prix as the Brit ended qualification in 12th place, while teammate Charles Leclerc clinched pole for the race on Sunday.

The seven-time F1 champion is yet to win a race since his arrival at Ferrari and had to endure another testing day on the track in the famous red of the Prancing Horse during the qualifications at the Hungaroring.

“I’m useless. Absolutely useless," Hamilton said following his sub-par performance at MogyorOd.

“The team has no problem. You’ve seen the car on pole so they probably need to change driver," the seven-time F1 World Champion said.

Hamilton, a record eight time winner at the Hungaroring would look to end his drought since joining the Italian manufacturer in a blockbuster deal that put him in the cockpit of the fabled Prancing Horse.

Reigning champion Max Verstappen, who finished qualification in the third spot, however, added that the track wasn’t an easy one to navigate

“Looking at the whole weekend, I think we’re happy to be in Q3 because I’ve been more outside the top 10 than in it –- so, yeah, it’s been difficult this whole weekend," said the Dutch driver.

“No grip, front and rear, and it was the same in qualifying so, for me, it was not really a shock. I just drove to what I already feel the whole weekend."

The 27-year-old Dutchman, who declared he was staying with RB up until the year 2026, added that he did not completely comprehend the issues at hand with the car.

“No, clearly not. I mean, otherwise, of course, we would have changed it already, but somehow, this weekend, nothing seems to work."

“From lap one, it just felt off — and we threw the car around a lot and nothing really gave a direction. Now, it’s just nothing works. You know, it’s like just going around in circles and nothing gives you any kind of idea of what to do," the Red Bull driver continued.

“There may be a few cars in front of me that I can maybe battle with a little bit and, of course, Lewis is still a bit further down the road which, I think, he shouldn’t be there right? So, he will come through a bit," Verstappen said in anticipation of raceday in Hungary.
