A day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted the Samajwadi Party for turning Ayodhya into Faizabad and ordering firing on karsevaks during the 1990s Ram Janmabhoomi movement, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that lighting lamps in the name of Ram while spreading hatred in the name of Rahim does not reflect Lord Shri Ram’s ideals.
"Lighting lamps in the name of Ram while spreading hatred in the name of Rahim is not the ideal of Lord Shri Ram. Will the double-engine government in Ayodhya light lamps today for: Employment for youth?, Fair crop prices for farmers?, Relief from inflation?, Permanent houses for the poor?, Liberating the nation from hatred?," Singh asked on X.
On the eve of Diwali, Yogi Adityanath targeted the INDIA bloc from Ayodhya, saying that while they fired bullets, the BJP is lighting diyas.
"During the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in this very Ayodhya, the Congress said Ram is a myth, while the Samajwadi Party fired bullets at Ram devotees," Yogi Adityanath said, adding, "They turned Ayodhya into Faizabad, but we renamed it Ayodhya Dham."
Continuing his tirade against the Samajwadi Party, Adityanath further said, "They fired gunshots (on karsevaks) but we lit diyas."
Singh further criticised Yogi over his attack on INDIA alliance leaders for skipping the Ram Temple opening, highlighting that neither then-President Ram Nath Kovind nor current President Draupadi Murmu was invited to key temple ceremonies due to their Dalit and tribal backgrounds.
He questioned whether Lord Ram belongs to all communities, including Dalits and the oppressed, and whether the President would be invited for the flag hoisting on November 25.
The Rajya Sabha MP called upon people to light lamps together for prosperity and a hatred-free India, urging unity and brotherhood in national celebrations.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further criticised the Samajwadi Party, stating it had kept Ayodhya in darkness for years.
