Lorry driver ends life

A lorry driver allegedly ended his life by jumping in front of a train near his house at Baigiri Cross in Adoni mandal on Friday (December 12, 2025). The driver reportedly took this extreme step due to distress over an accident involving his lorry, in which five people were injured.

According to the police, the deceased identified as Lakshanna (35) was driving his lorry with a group of labour from Adoni towards Yemmiganur when it overturned in the morning hours of Friday. Five of them including Lakshanna suffered injuries and were shifted to the government hospital at Adoni for treatment.

Around 10 a.m., Lakshanna was found dead on the railway tracks near his house. Police suspect that Lakshanna might have been distressed over workers sustaining injuries due to him and took the extreme step. Adoni police registered a case for further investigation.
