LU invites applications for B Tech & 5-yr LLB courses under NRI quota

Lucknow: Lucknow University on Monday invited applications for LLB (integrated five years) and BTech programmes under NRI/NRI-sponsored quota.Under the quota, 30 seats in LLB and 5% seats in every BTech branch will go to an NRI and NRI-sponsored candidate.

The last date for application is June 30.“NRI-sponsored seats will be granted if a student is an Indian resident but has a close NRI relative. Sponsor must be an NRI, while NRI quota seats shall be filled from NRIs or son/daughter/real brother or sister of NRIs who have passed the minimum eligibility qualifying examination,” said admission coordinator Anitya Gaurav.He said first preference would be given to NRIs. Vacant seats under NRI quota would be filled up by such son/daughter/real brother or sister of NRIs.

After that, if any vacant seats remain, they will be filled by NRI-sponsored candidates, who possess certificate of passing minimum eligibility examination.LU officials said that all such candidates should submit an NRI certificate obtained from the Indian diplomatic mission/chancellery/high commission under their seal at the time of counselling.The candidate must also submit sufficient documents clarifying without ambiguity their true relationship with the sponsoring NRI for full duration till completion of the programme up to the satisfaction of the university.

“The candidates will be informed separately about the date of counselling and number of seats under this quota through the university website, and they are required to be present in person on the day of counselling with original documents/certificates, failing which they will lose their claim,” said an LU official.
