Looks like the 'Amaran' star Sivakarthikeyan is finding it hard to achieve success in his collaboration with the 'Thuppakki' director.Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited film 'Madharasi', directed by AR Murugadoss, opened to a magnificent start, but its box office pace has gradually slowed down.
In 10 days, the film has collected Rs 56.71 crore across all languages.
On its second Sunday, it managed to bring in Rs 2.85 crore (early estimates).
Tamil version leads the way
The original Tamil version continues to lead the collections. On September 14, the film registered an overall 37.47% occupancy in Tamil Nadu. The afternoon and evening shows performed better as the numbers crossed 46%.
Mixed response outside Tamil Nadu for 'Madharasi'
From 'Madharasi' collections apart from Tamil regions, it seems that Sivakarthikeyan needs more time to build his fan base in other states.
While the film had a decent opening in Telugu and Hindi markets, its momentum outside Tamil Nadu has dipped sharply.

On week one the movie hardly managed to collect Rs 50 lakhs from Hindi regions and Rs 4.95 crores from Telugu. The overall week one collections for this action flick stood at Rs 49 crores.Starring Sivakarthikeyan alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth, Prem Kumar, and Monisha Vijay, the action drama began with huge promise.
The trailer for this AR Murugadoss' film had also impressed the audiences, with Sivakarthikeyan's workout video going viral on social media.
