'Mahakali': Prasanth Varma unveils Bhoomi Shetty's first look as a commanding and fiery goddess

Filmmaker Prasanth Varma rose to fame after the release of his superhero flick 'Hanu-Man' in 2024. Expanding his mythological superhero cinematic universe, the makers have unveiled the first look of 'Mahakali,' introducing Bhoomi Shetty as the titular superheroine.

Bhoomi Shetty transforms into the fierce goddess

The makers shared the first look of the actress in a poster with her face revealed. Bhoomi Shetty is seen in fiery shades of red and gold. She looks to possess raw divine power and has a fierce grace. She is also seen adorned with traditional ornaments and sacred markings. Speaking of gaze, she keeps a calm and commanding look that teases wrath and serenity, hinting at the destruction and rebirth, the eternal duality of Mahakali.

Sharing the first look, the makers wrote, "From the cosmic womb of creation awakens the most FEROCIOUS SUPERHERO of the universe! Introducing Bhoomi Shetty as MAHA."

A bold step with a fresh face

According to the team, 'Mahakali' has already completed over 50% of its shoot and is currently being filmed on a massive set specially constructed in Hyderabad. Interestingly, the makers are banking big with a grand production on a fresh face leading the story.

It is also reported that several A-list actresses had shown interest in the role, but the makers remained committed to their vision, casting a dark-skinned newcomer, keeping their craft authentic.
