The chilling video of a man being mowed down by a Mahindra Thar driver has surfaced on social media. The incident took place in Noida's Sector 53.

A horrific turn of events was reported in Noida’s Sector 53 after a man was mowed down by a Mahindra Thar driver, with whom an Instagram comment triggered a physical confrontation on the streets, the officials said on Tuesday.

A chilling video of the incident surfaced and went viral on social media, raising concerns over public safety.

What Actually Happened?

The police said that there was a dispute between the two sides over a comment on social media, in which both parties are familiar with each other, NDTV reported, citing Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida, Sumit Kumar Shukla.

The fight started over comments made on Instagram and later turned into a physical clash on the street.

According to the locals who saw the developments, the initial argument between the two turned violent, after which the individual driving Thar deliberately accelerated his car and hit him from behind, tossing him into the nearby drain.

The driver then fled from the spot.

A case was registered under sections for rash driving, criminal intimidation, and causing hurt at Sector 24 police station.

The police said that a team has been constituted to nab the accused.

An SIT has been assigned the task of identifying and arresting the driver, who is absconding.
