Mahindra and Mahindra recently launched the new Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV in the Indian market. Bookings are expected to begin soon, and deliveries are scheduled to commence on February 23, 2026.

The 3XO electric is based on the ICE-powered 3XO and carries forward the battery pack and electric motor from the XUV400. In doing so, it replaces the Mahindra XUV400 and now competes with the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor. In this article, let’s compare the Mahindra XUV 3XO with its direct rival - Tata Nexon EV.

The 7.2kW charger is available as an optional extra for an additional Rs 50,000.The Tata Nexon EV is offered with two battery pack options - 30 kWh and 45 kWh. It’s offered in Creative, Creative Plus, Fearless, Fearless Plus, Fearless Plus (S), Empowered, Empowered Plus, Empowered Plus A and Empowered Plus A Red Dark edition. Prices range from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 7.2kW charger is available as an optional extra for an additional Rs 25,000.

Compared to the base Nexon EV (Rs 12.49 lakh), the XUV 3XO EV starts Rs 1.40 lakh higher at Rs 13.89 lakh.

Against the top-spec Nexon EV (Rs 17.49 lakh), the top XUV 3XO EV at Rs 14.96 lakh is Rs 2.53 lakh cheaper.

Gets 16-inch wheels and has ground clearance of 190 mm. The Nexon EV measures 3995 mm in length, 1802 mm in width, 1625 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2498 mm.

The motor has an output of 147 bhp and 310 Nm, and Mahindra says it has 285 km of real-world range, and ARAI figures are not revealed yet.

It can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.3 seconds and comes with three drive modes - fun, fast and fearless. Mahindra says the battery can be charged up from 0 to 80 per cent in 50 minutes using a 50kW DC charger.As mentioned before, the Nexon EV gets two battery pack options - 30kWh and 45kWh. Powering both variants is a front-mounted electric motor that delivers 145 hp and 215 nm. The 38kWh version offers an ARAI-certified range of 325km, while the 45kWh version provides a range of 489km on a full charge.
