Chow from Malaysia who recently set the Guinness World Record for growing the world's longest Kohlrabi, measuring 7 ft 7.3 inches in length and weighing around 11.05 kgs. He achieved this humongous feat at the School of Life Sciences and Chemical Technology, Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore, on December 20, 2024 after three long years of efforts.Chow dedicated several years to exploring hydroponics, the practice of growing plants without soil and indoor farming.
His aim with the effort was to showcase the world of possibilities in smart agriculture in controlled environments.

Kohlrabi is another name for German Turnip or turnip cabbage. Green or purple in colour, the spherical vegetable has thick leaves and a bulbous body. In terms of health benefits, the vegetable is packed with Vitamin C, folate and other nutrients such as vitamin B6, potassium, magnesium and more.
It is a great addition to the diet for those aiming to improve gut health, lower the risk of heart disease, improve immunity and more. Additionally, it also has health-promoting phytochemicals that may have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
