Mamata Banerjee will hold a one-day sit-in protest on June 2 in Kolkata against the alleged attacks on Trinamool Congress MP Abhsihek Banerjee and other party leaders.
The announcement comes amid the party's protest campaign over attacks that it has blamed on the BJP. According to an update issued by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), the party will launch statewide protest rallies on Monday at the anchal, ward and block levels in connection with the attacks on Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee.
The AITC also said that on June 2, under the leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee, it will organise a sit-in protest at Rani Rashmoni Road. The protest will be held in connection with post-poll violence and the alleged attacks carried out by the BJP on AITC leaders.
The party said the statewide demonstrations and the June 2 sit-in are part of its protest against the attacks on its leaders and workers.
