Man attempts to end life by climbing cell tower, rescued

A 27-year-old man climbed a cellphone tower and threatened to end his life by jumping from it due to some family problems at Ashok Nagar in Koyyalagudem town in Eluru district on Monday.

On receiving information, Polavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) M. Venkateswara Rao, Koyyalagudem Sub-Inspector (SI) V. Chandrashekar rushed to the spot, along with the Fire Department officials. Police and the locals pacified the man and brought him down. Later, police and the Fire officials gave counselling and handed over the man to his family members.
