Man electrocuted while shifting house in Trichy

Trichy: A 21-year-old man was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live wire while relocating furniture to a new house near Marakkadai in Trichy city on Thursday.Police identified the deceased as J Sardar Khan, from Gopura Pallivasal Street in Thennur. Recently, Sardhar Khan’s brother Amir Khan got married. On Thursday, Sardar Khan, his brother Amir Khan, and their relative Shahjahan were shifting household items to Amir Khan’s new house in Jeeva Nagar near Marakkadai bridge.During the shifting process, Sardar Khan was using a rope to lift properties from the ground floor to the house on the first floor. As he was lifting a steel bureau from the balcony, he accidentally touched a live electric cable passing very close to the house.Sardhar Khan was electrocuted on the spot. Attempts to retrieve him went in vain. He was rushed to MGMGH Trichy where he was declared dead on arrival. Trichy Fort police have registered a case and are investigating.
