Man found hanging on tree, woman's body on ground in Chhattisgarh

A young couple was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district.

The woman's body was recovered from the ground while the man was discovered hanging from a nearby tree. Police suspect the case to be a murder-suicide triggered by a dispute in their love relationship.

The deceased have been identified as Sandila Pankra and Chudamani Pankra. According to Superintendent of Police, Shashi Mohan Singh, the man had posted on social media before the incident, indicating that the matter was linked to their relationship.

Singh added that while the initial enquiry suggests the deaths stemmed from personal conflict, the final conclusion will only be drawn after the post-mortem and further investigation.

Both bodies have been sent for autopsy, and the police are probing the matter further. The tragedy has shocked the local community.
