A man who duped multiple job seekers by posing as a recruitment agent for government posts has been arrested by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone, in coordination with the Trimulgherry Police.

The accused, identified as Kollapuram Sravan Kumar, 36, targeted gullible job seekers by promising appointments in the Secunderabad Cantonment Board, including roles such as Food Inspector and Election Supervisor. Police say he took advance payments and then cut off all contact with them, neither delivering on promises nor returning the money.

In one instance, he is accused of collecting ₹22,000 from a woman named Srilekha in September of 2024 with the promise of a job in the Defence Ministry. He also allegedly cheated a man named Pavan of ₹35,000 in Bowenpally, Srinivas of ₹20,000, and Vishal of ₹32,000 in Begumpet, and Sai Krishna of Vemulawada for ₹50,000.

According to an officer, he has previously been arrested in six similar cases dating back to 2019. After resurfacing in 2024, he had been absconding, continuing his scams under the radar until now.
