Man killed as college bus rams bike in Kerala’s Ernakulam

A 53-year-old man died after the bus of an engineering college rammed into his motorcycle from behind at Arakkunnam in Ernakulam district of Kerala around 9 a.m. on Monday. The deceased was identified as Georgekutty, an official with the Agriculture department.

Reportedly, he was on his way on an official assignment to Thodupuzha. He was reportedly tailing a KSRTC bus which suddenly stopped while trying to overtake when a lorry came from the opposite side. The victim also stopped his vehicle when the college bus rammed his motorcycle from behind. Though he was rushed to a nearby private hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

This was the second accident involving a two-wheeler rider in Kochi on Monday morning. A delivery worker with an online aggregator was fatally knocked down by a private bus at South Kalamassery around the same time.
