City confirmed the exit of Juanma Lillo, Inigo Dominguez, and Carlos Vicens, at the conclusion of their contracts.

Premier League side Manchester City confirmed the departure of three of boss Pep Guardiola’s assistants, Juanma Lillo, Inigo Dominguez, and Carlos Vicens, at the conclusion of their contracts on Wednesday.

“Assistant coaches Juanma Lillo and Inigo Dominguez will leave Manchester City upon the expiry of their contracts," City said in a statement.

“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Juanma, Inigo, and Carlos the very best and thanks them for their contributions to a hugely successful period for the club," the Mancunian club added.

Vicens, who joined City in 2017 and worked with the youth teams before moving up to Guardiola’s senior coaching team, is set to take over as the head coach of Portuguese side Braga. Vicens guided the Under-18 side to the FA Youth Cup in 2020 and has been alongside Guardiola for the past four years.

Juanma Lillo has chosen to return to Spain after his second stint at Manchester City. Initially joining the club in 2020, he left in 2022 to coach Al-Sadd in Qatar.

Lillo came back to City in 2023, working closely with Guardiola this season. He played a crucial role in Guardiola’s coaching team, contributing to City’s success in winning several trophies.

Inigo Dominguez, who joined the coaching staff in 2023 alongside Lillo, will also be leaving. Over the past two years, he has supported both Guardiola and the players during training and match days.

City ended the recently concluded season trophyless, in a year marked by turbulence in the head coach’s personal life and a lengthy stint on the sidelines for star midfielder and Balon d’Or winner Rodri due to an injury, finished second in the PL behind Liverpool, who clinched their 20th top-flight title, and second placed Arsenal.
