Actor Manjeet Makkar, who currently plays the lead role of Krishna in the TV show Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi, opened up about his journey into acting and how passion gradually turned into a career.
The actor, who plays a resourceful conman from Delhi, believes that his theatre roots shaped the performer he is today.“In the first year of my college, I started doing theatre — and I completely fell in love with it,” shares Manjeet. “I was also good at mimicking people. While doing theatre, I didn’t even realize when I started getting serious roles. I received some appreciation, and after a while, I even started getting paid for acting — so everything just started happening naturally on its own.”Talking about his excitement for Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi, he says, “I’m very excited because this is a big opportunity for me. The character I’m playing allows me to use my theatre experience, since I’ve performed many different roles during my theatre days — and you’ll get to see some of that in the show as well.”For Manjeet, this role marks a significant milestone in his career. “This in itself is a big turning point for me, and if I do good work, it could become an even bigger one.
In the end, it all depends on what the audience accepts and appreciates.”Grateful for the platform, he adds, “I’m really enjoying working with the makers of the show. It’s a big production company that has created many successful shows, so I feel lucky to have gotten this opportunity.
